Series “GLOBAL HISTORY”

Global history and other approaches that pay particular attention to historical interdependence and transfer processes, but also to opposing decouplings and demarcations, characterise international research debates. They respond to social and political experiences of globalisation and its effects in all areas of life as well as to corresponding adoption, integration and protective reactions.

The series of lectures and panels organised by the Max Weber Foundation’s Georgia office in cooperation with various partner institutions in the South Caucasus addresses these debates on the basis of selected topics. Workshop discussions with the speakers, which take place on the following days, offer young academics the opportunity to discuss their projects and approaches to global, transnational and transregional history, as well as international history, in depth with the speakers.

The series is funded by the ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS.
